Mondays by definition suck, so get yourself out of that funk with this mood altering track…
Caesars have been around for a while, but haven’t really gotten the recognition they deserve. The reason for this is from the fact that they wrote a song the whole world liked and quickly became sick of. “Jerk It Out” was used in one of the first iPod commercials a few years ago, leading everybody to love and soon hate the band responsible for it. Caesars themselves didn’t help matters either, for they released the song on three separate LPs before finally writing something creatively new.
On their last album, Strawberry Weed, the band took a slightly different direction, going from garage rock to a more alternative sound. They still sound like the Caesars, but they weren’t forced to write songs that sounded good around “Jerk It Out,” which is finally not included. In fact, the album itself was a double album at 24 tracks. After listening a few times, I realized it didn’t need to be a double album, for almost half the songs are slow and boring or are literally just noise for a few minutes. Thankfully, somebody else realized this too, and when shipped from the band’s native Sweden, the label cut out twelve tracks and made a much better LP in the process.
Although the title track is my favorite, first single “Boo Boo Goo Goo” is by far the catchiest song an the album and has the power to change. your. mood. Now enjoy it, or else (shakes fist at you)!
