The Dandy Warhols – “Eight Days a Week (Beatles cover)”

So I might have skimped out a tad the last time I wrote about the Dandy Warhols.  As a group, they deserve much more than a simple filler post, and I intend to give it to them.  For those of you who don’t know, the DWs are an incredibly solid band that’s been around since the mid 90’s.  They released a critic’s darling in the form of their third album, Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia, and have gone in and out of the spotlight since then.  If you’re a casual listener, what you definitely don’t know is that most of their work is truly fantastic, even the albums the critics didn’t love.  Odditorium is much better than people give it credit for, and even …Earth to the Dandy Warhols has some great songs on it.

If you want to start to understand the band a little better, I recommend watching the documentary Dig! which is all about their ‘feud’ with the Brian Jonestown Massacre, as well as getting a dose of their best songs from The Capitol Years 1995-2007.  After that you’ll be ready to listen to 13 Tales… and the other ten hours of music the band has made.  For now, enjoy this nice slowed down Beatle cover the group pulled off a few years ago.  Oh, and remember that the Dandys Rule, OK?
